SANTACRUZAN'S  TOP  THREE QUEENS NAMED

On Tuesday, April 18th, the Office of Filipino Ministry made an official announcement naming the three main characters in this year’s Santacruzan 2006 to be held at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels on Saturday, May 27th, at 10:00 a.m. with Bishop Oscar Solis as main celebrant for the Eucharistic celebration.

Santacruzan is a religious-historical pageant held throughout the Philippines during the month of May which commemorates the search of the Holy Cross by Queen Helena (Reyna Elena) and her son, the newly converted emperor, Constantine.  Her mother, Reyna Emperatriz, is also portrayed while our Lady, Queen of the Flowers (Reyna de las Flores), takes an important role in the procession of characters.

With the support of family and friends, the following Santacruzan queens will surely make the Alay Kay Maria 2006 an awaited event. Representing Reyna Elena is 17-year old Jorena de Pedro, daughter of Trini & Remi de Pedro, who are parishioners of St. John the Baptist Parish; Reyna Emperatriz is represented by 23-year old Catherine Garcia, daughter of Connie & Leo Garcia of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Parish; and,  Our Lady under the guise of the Queen of Flowers will be personified by 11-year old Tirzah Seneres, granddaughter of Neri & Romy Seneres of St. Mariannes de Paredes parish church.
