Filipino Ministry at the Religious Education Congress
Anaheim, California – March 30 to April 2, 2006

            More than half of the members of the Filipino Ministry Council of Servant Leaders as well as the staff and volunteers of the Filipino Ministry under the guidance of Sr. Mary Christina Sevilla, RGS will be joining the hundreds of lay and religious Catholic to attend the Religious Education Congress this year.

            As in prior years, the Filipino Ministry will have an exhibit presenting the culture and people of the Philippines – whether here or abroad.  This year’s exhibit focuses on our Blessed Virgin Mary as:  1- The Lady of All Nations;  2- Nuestra Senora de Guia  (Our Lady of Guidance);  3- Nuestra Senora del Paz Y Buen Viaje (Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage);  4- Our Lady of Manaoag;  and, 5- Nuestra Senora de Penafrancia (Our Lady of Penafrancia).

            Exhibits from previous years included the various festivities that Filipinos celebrate (Simbang Gabi, Santacruzan, etc.) that are linked to both our culture and religion as a people (2005) as well as a focus on the Filipinos in America (2004).
